Right-Wing Nuts Claim Arizona Killer a "Pot-Smoking Leftist"

While the Neo-Cons clammer in defense of their position on guns and try to distract from the fact that they have openly expoused violence in some of their Tea-Party campaigns,...they are quick to claim that Jared Lee Laughner, the Arizona Killer, was a crazed "pot-smoking leftist." However, what they fail to realize or point out is the fact that he was a registered independant and if you read around some of his rants still accessable on the internet, you will find that he had more RIGHT than left wing leanings, and in fact, sounded much like a tea-partier himself. So I am wondering what would make the Neo-Cons think that this guy was "a leftie?" I can only conclude that their "educated opinion" was derived based upon the killers high-school yearbook when he did in fact, look pretty much like a hippy with his long parted down the middle hair
